We are a small, family-owned and operated business. Our approach to remodeling lends a personal touch to every project we undertake.

Damon Johnson owns and operates Quality Remodeling & Restoration. He has been working in the construction industry since 1996, during the time that he attended Western Washington University while earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology. The attention to detail required in the engineering field has translated well to the technical aspects of home remodeling.

Chris Thorson, a longtime family friend, has been working for Quality Remodeling for more than a decade. Prior to joining our team, he worked as a foreman specializing in slab and tile installations.

Quality Remodeling was started by Fred Murray in 2003 and in 2007 expanded to include his son-in-law Damon Johnson as co-owner and Chris Thorson as an employee.

Fred became interested in remodeling when he bought his first house in 1972. After remodeling this house extensively he decided to challenge himself and build his own custom house from the ground up. Fred was a junior high school teacher for 31 years until he retired in 2003. His teaching schedule allowed him to accept smaller jobs during the school year and larger projects during the summer months. Fred put all his energy into the company and retired from Quality Remodeling & Restoration in 2015.

Our History

Ken Murray, Damon's brother-in-law, owns and operates the Artistic Touch Painting branch of Quality Remodeling. Ken attended Western Washington University and in 2002 earned a BA in Communications, with minors in Political Science and Environmental Education. During and since college, Ken has owned and operated Artistic Touch Painting, completing painting and repair projects on numerous homes around Washington. Becoming a homeowner broadened Ken's construction experience, and in 2010 he joined forces with Quality Remodeling & Restoration to be able to serve our customers better.

We have experience in nearly every aspect of home remodeling, from major renovations to minor upgrades. We specialize in kitchens, bathrooms, basement refinishing, and additions, as well as exterior home projects such as decks and fences. During the initial planning stages of a project, we are able to assist our clients with design, layout, and the selection of quality and affordable materials.

As a small company, we enjoy working closely with our clients and rarely hire subcontractors. We schedule our projects such that every customer receives our full attention. Additionally, we strive to minimize disruptions to our clients' daily lives while projects are underway. Safety is a top priority for us. Each day we clean up hazardous debris and materials. Our ultimate goal is to make home renovations pleasant and enjoyable for our customers.
